🌍 My Passion for Culture and Travel
Behind this website is a 60-something-young Dutch native woman living in beautiful Greece. I grew up on the small, wonderful Dutch island of Terschelling. It was a safe place where we could play for hours in the dunes, woods, and on the beaches.
Since 2008, my career took me all around Europe and Morocco. The country where I feel most at home is Greece. I deeply understand the journey of adapting to a new country. I know how it feels to learn a new language.
🎓 Over 20 Years of Dutch Tutoring
My path as a language coach started in the 1990s. It began as a favor for a colleague. He asked if I could help a friend improve their spoken Dutch. This small project quickly grew into a lifelong professional passion.
In my lessons, I combine speaking and writing. This balance brings the absolute best results. In the Netherlands, children start learning English around age 11 or 12. They can also add German, French, or Spanish later on. I mastered German and English in high school, along with basic French.

Later, I lived and worked as a tour guide in the Canary Islands. There, I completely mastered Spanish. Today, I live in Greece and tackle the challenge of learning the Greek language. I know the exact hurdles you face as an expat because I face them too!
🧘♀️ Patience and a Mindful Approach
My background extends into wellness and cultural guiding. This experience enriches my teaching method today.
In January 2024, I passed my exams to become a certified Face Yoga Teacher via the Danielle Collins Method, passing with flying colours.
While I primarily offer these wellness sessions privately, this training enhances my daily tutoring.
It taught me the importance of extreme patience and a stress-free pace. I create a safe environment where you can make mistakes and build real confidence.
🚲 A Rich History of Guiding
Before focusing on language coaching online, I spent many years working as an independent tour guide. I worked in the Canary Islands and in Porto, Portugal.
Being a tour guide is a beautiful job. It blends history, culture, and education. In the Canary Islands, I led extensive tours in German, Dutch, English, and Spanish. In Porto, I spent my spare time guiding active city tours on bicycles. That was great fun and excellent for my fitness!
All of these global experiences come together in my private Dutch lessons today. I do not just teach grammar rules from a textbook. I share real-world cultural insights, practical conversational skills, and over two decades of teaching experience to help you truly thrive.
